Reviews and Ratings
The hotel offers spacious and big rooms, but being near an outdoor party hall can be uncomfortable. The nine-hole golf course view was horrific. The staff members, especially in housekeeping and front desk, are genuinely striving to provide excellent service, albeit lacking in expressions. The location of the hotel is great for evening walks and is close to the main road for easy transportation options. The dining experience was good overall but had some issues. Bolgatty Palace and Island Resort is set in a beautiful location on the backwaters of Kochi, yet some parts were disappointing for a landmark place.
The hotel is situated on Bolghatty Island, offering a superb location that gives a glimpse into history. The rooms, while lacking a tub, were decent but quite small in size. The service, though overworked, should know multiple languages, and the dining experience is hit or miss. However, the peaceful setting and historical charm make up for some shortcomings.
Even though the rooms didn't quite reach the expected standard for the price in Kochi, my late-night arrival was met with disappointment from the nearby 'nine-hole golf course'. On the positive side, the staff were genuinely trying their best, especially the housekeeping and front desk personnel.
I had a mixed experience at Marina Cottage. The view from the Marina Cottage room was stunning, but I was a bit disappointed with the overall condition of the hotel. The staff's lack of language skills made communication challenging, and the dining options were limited. However, the hotel's location for ferry access was excellent.
